Patents are the most underleveraged asset class in business. Over 90% of S&P 500 value is intangible, yet the vast majority of patents are never enforced, licensed, or monetized – not because the evidence doesn't exist, but because the analysis required is complex and expensive. AI companies including Sana, Legora, OpenAI, Lovable and Listen Labs.

Stilta builds agentic AI software to enforce, defend, and commercialize patents. Its agents reason across 180 million patents, 250 million scientific publications, and over a trillion archived web pages to surface evidence that legacy tools and manual review consistently miss. The platform helps companies defend against patent assertions, clear paths to commercialization, and uncover hidden value in their portfolios — with every finding traced to a specific document.

"When one company starts using AI for patent enforcement, every competitor has to follow. That shift is happening right now. We built Stilta to be the platform IP teams reach for when the stakes are highest, and to make sure no invention worth protecting goes unprotected."

Stilta will use the funding to hire its first employees — engineers, go-to-market, and patent experts across Stockholm and New York. The team will be the company's first hires beyond the four founders, who left McKinsey's AI practice to build Stilta.

"Patent litigation runs on labor-intensive workflows that haven't meaningfully changed in decades. Stilta automates them and, in doing so, becomes the system of record for how enterprises protect and monetize their most valuable intangible assets."
